- Will the free tools always stay free?
- Yes. Crosswind training finder, glide-aware route planner, manual aircraft inputs, the interactive map, and route-string copy stay in the free tier.
- Do I need an account to use the free tools?
- No. The free planner is wind-aware out of the box: it uses NOAA winds and temperatures aloft (FB/FD) for the current valid window when scoring time and glide-range reach, with a METAR fallback if the upper-air product is unavailable. Sign in only when you want to save aircraft, save plans, export to ForeFlight or Garmin Pilot, or plan a future flight with TAF forecast winds layered on top.
- Is Aero Companion a substitute for an official briefing?
- No. Use Flight Service (1-800-WX-BRIEF / 1800wxbrief.com) for an official preflight briefing. Aero Companion is a planning aid, not a release.
- Can I cancel anytime?
- Yes. Upgrades are month-to-month and can be cancelled from your account page. Saved aircraft and plans stay in your flight bag.
