Typical reply time is one business day. Please include your app version (Settings → About in the iOS app, or the version shown in the website footer), your device model and iOS version if relevant, and the airport identifier or route involved.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the crosswind finder showing different runways than I expected?
The crosswind finder ranks candidate runways for practice by the current wind component against the runway heading, using observed METAR. If a station has gone stale or has a missing wind group, that airport is skipped rather than guessed. Try a wider search radius or check back when the next observation is published.
The flight planner says I leave glide range over a stretch of my route.
That is the planner doing its job. The continuous glide-range check flags segments where you would be out of glide-distance reach of a suitable airport at the altitude and aircraft profile you entered. You can raise the planned altitude, change aircraft profile glide ratio, accept the gap as a known risk, or route around it. The planner does not decide for you.
Closest-airport METAR is empty or wrong.
Closest-airport requires location permission. If you denied it, the tile will be blank and you can enter an identifier manually. If permission is granted but the result is still wrong, your device may be reporting a coarse network-based location. Tap the identifier field and type an ICAO or FAA code to override.
How do I upgrade to Pro?
Pro is sold on the website at aerocompanion.com/pricing. Sign in on the web, choose a plan, and complete checkout through Stripe. Pro features unlock automatically in the iOS app the next time you open it while signed in. There are no in-app purchases inside the iOS app.
How do I cancel or change my plan?
Sign in on the web and open your account page. You can change the plan or cancel from there. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
I forgot my password.
Use the "Reset password" link on the sign-in page. The reset email comes from a noreply address. If it does not arrive within a few minutes, check spam and then email support@aerocompanion.com.
I want my account and data deleted.
Email support@aerocompanion.com from the address on your account and ask for deletion. We will confirm and remove your account and associated personal data within 30 days.
Does the iOS app work offline?
The shell loads instantly so you can start typing inputs, but live weather, winds aloft, and routing calls require an internet connection. We do not pretend to give you a current METAR when the device is offline.
Can I export a route to ForeFlight or Garmin Pilot?
Pro plans include GPX and KML export from the flight planner. Open the planner result, choose Export, and pick the format your EFB accepts.
Aviation safety reminder
Aero Companion is a preflight planning and proficiency companion. It is not a replacement for:
- An official weather briefing from your country's flight service provider.
- A current NOTAM check.
- Current charts, AFD/Chart Supplement, and ATC clearances.
- Performance data from your aircraft's Pilot's Operating Handbook.
- Your own judgement as pilot in command.
If a result on Aero Companion does not match an authoritative source, trust the authoritative source and tell us so we can fix the tool.
